Just three days after police arrested two men in connection with a spree of arsonists that have terrorized Coatesville, another arsonist has struck, setting fire to seven school buses in West Brandywine Township.

The Chester County Arson task for has ruled the 3 a.m. blaze that destroyed seven buses valued at $400,000 arson. The buses were parked outside of North Brandywine Middle School. According to court documents it is the 67th arson to strike Coatesville and the surrounding area since February 2008.

Thursday police arrested Roger Barlow Jr., of Downingtown, for nine arsons, including the Jan 24 blaze that destroyed 15 row homes on Fleetwood Street in Coatesville. That same day authorities also charged Mark Gilliam, of Downingtown, with setting a fire in the ceiling of the mens bathroom in Happy Days Family Bistro in Thorndale. That fire was set only five hours after the Fleetwood Street fire.

Gilliam, described by authorities as a wannbe firefighter, was in the restaurant when firefighters arrived. According to court documents, Gilliam approached investigators and claimed of being tired from fighting the Fleetwood fire.

Gilliam and Barlow were friends and often frequented the Thorndale restaurant.

Authorities have said from the beginning of the investigation that more than one person was involved, including the possibility that there could be a competition between different groups.

District Attorney Joe Carroll, as recent as Thursday's press conference where Barlow's arrest was announced, that the arsons were not gang related or hate related.
