Editor's Update: The county Arson Task force has now ruled this fire arson.

Coatesville firefighters Tuesday night fought to bring under control yet another fire in Coatesville, this one just three days after four fires in neighboring municipalities were ruled arson by the county Arson Task Force.

The fire occurred in the rear of a home in the 100 block of Chester Avenue around 10 p.m. There were no reported injuries and the fire was quickly extinguished, according to sketchy reports from the scene.

It is too early to determine if the fire was arson, according to John Hagerman, an ATF agent assigned to the task force. The task force is investigating the fire.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, porches on four homes were deliberately set; two took place in Valley Township. and one each in Modena and Sadsbury Township.

Last night's fire brings to 21 the number of fires that have occurred since the start of the New Year. The majority of the fires have been contained to Coatesville.
