Walker resigns as RDA executive director
by Allen Davis Staff Writer Posted: Wednesday, 19 January. 2010; 12 p.m. Coatesville City Manager Harry Walker resigned as executive director of the city's Redevelopment Authority last night. The letter was submitted to RDA Chairman Joseph 'Zeke' Disciullo during an executive session. The RDA made no move last night to fill the position. Walker was placed on paid administration leave within minutes of the four new council members being sworn Jan. 4. Four days later the FBI and detectives from the Chester County District Attorney's office seizing documents related to the numerous consultants hired by the city during Walker's tenure and electronic files. Council voted at it's Jan. 11 meeting to request the FBI and District Attorney Joe Carroll conduct a forensic audit of city finances. RDA members reelected Disciullo as chairman last night.
